How to Make This Tilapia With Green Apple Chili Sambal

This crave-worthy dish features Omaha Steaks Tilapia Fillets. They’re light, flaky, and tender. Naturally low in fat and carbohydrates yet packed with protein, these fillets thaw and cook quickly, making them a go-to for effortless weeknight dinners.

1. Apple Adventure: A Sambal That Pops

This green apple chili sambal isn’t just a topping; it’s the flavor boost your tilapia has been waiting for! Sweet, tart, and just a touch of zing, it combines crisp apple, fragrant herbs, and a splash of fish sauce to create a bright, zesty punch that elevates every bite.

Start by dicing the green apple and red chili, then set them aside. Then roughly chop the parsley and cilantro. In a medium bowl, combine the fish sauce, lime juice, and brown sugar, and mix well. Add the chopped apple, chili, cilantro, and parsley, and stir to combine. Let the apple chili sambal sit for about 20 minutes before serving, allowing the flavors to combine.

2. Pan-Fried Perfection: Tender, Tasty, Tilapia

Let’s get started with the Omaha Steaks Tilapia Fillets! Once thawed, pat dry with a paper towel. In a small shallow bowl, combine corn starch, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix until fully incorporated, then set aside.

Add the coconut oil to a medium sauté pan and turn the heat to medium. While the pan is warming, dip the tilapia into the corn starch mixture, coating all sides evenly. Once the pan is hot, carefully place the fillets in the pan and sauté for two to three minutes on each side. Cook the tilapia for five to six minutes until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees as per a meat thermometer. Remove from the pan and set on a paper-towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

Let’s build your plate! Place a tilapia fillet on the plate, then top with the apple chili sambal, and enjoy.
