The best steak cuts for kabobs
Everything is better with steak, especially a classic BLT. Any steak cut – ribeye, top sirloin or filet mignon – tastes delicious in this recipe. Omaha Steak steak tips are aged a minimum of 28 days for maximum tenderness and are perfectly cut and portioned for kabobs. Our three favorite steak cuts for this recipe include:
- Filet mignon tips – Tender steak with mild beef flavors.
- Ribeye pieces – Rich, buttery steak with intense marbling and a tender, meaty texture.
- Beef sirloin tips – A leaner steak cut with bold beef flavors.
The best bacon for kabobs
Everything is better with bacon. For this recipe, you need thick bacon – thicker slices slide easily onto the skewer and stay on the kabob. Our Colossal Cut Bacon is super thick, approximately ½ inch slices and are perfect for this recipe. This bacon is made from Duroc pork (a heritage breed of pig) and Applewood smoked for five hours for incredible, rich flavors. The flavor-packed bacon will add richness and smoky flavors to your BLT kabob. Colossal Cut bacon is the bacon of your dreams – you can thank us later.
How to make grilled BLT steak kabobs
Preparing your BLT steak kabobs is simple. Season your steak pieces with Omaha Steaks Seasoning and set aside. Then, cook your bacon according to directions before assembling the kabob.
We recommend using small stainless steel or bamboo skewers for your kabobs. It’s important to soak your bamboo skewers in water at least 1 hour before adding food to prevent them from burning on the grill.
Slide the seasoned steak tips and cooked bacon onto your skewer and grill over medium high heat 2-3 minutes per side. Add fresh lettuce and tomato and serve with a side of blue cheese dressing for the best BLT steak kabob you’ll ever experience. These colorful and flavorful kabobs are perfect for family dinner, a party, tailgate or easy appetizer.
