Supporting our military is important to our company and our 5th generation owners, Todd and Bruce Simon. In the past we have supported the Navy SEALS Family Foundation, Wounded Warriors Family Support, and shipped meals overseas to military members during the holidays.
Today, we are honored to support our U.S. Coast Guard during this difficult time. As the only branch of the military affected by the government shutdown we wanted to support the U.S. Coast Guard as we’ve supported other branches of the Armed Forces.
Omaha Steaks recently donated 8,000 Skirt Steak & Vegetable slow cooker meals to 18 U.S. Coast Guard bases across the country impacted by the government shutdown. With this donation, we wanted to make sure all U.S.Coast Guard members could enjoy their meal, even if they don’t own a slow cooker. We’ve included easy oven instructions to enjoy the skirt steak and vegetables slow cooker meal.

Slow cooker skirt steak and vegetables is a delicious meal that simmers in your slow cooker all day, but you can also make it in the oven with our simple instructions.
Skirt Steak & Vegetables Slow Cooker Meal - Oven Cooking Instructions
Oven cooking instructions for skirt steak & vegetables slow cooker meal
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Remove bag and 2 packages of beef from box. Carefully open bag and remove the black beans & rice pouch and 2 sauce pouches. Return beans & rice and bag containing vegetables to freezer.
Open beef packages and place beef in an oven safe baking dish. Open sauce pouches and place sauce on top of beef.
Cover with foil and place on the middle rack of oven. Bake covered for 2 hours.
Remove beef and sauce from oven. Uncover and stir.
Add vegetables and return to oven for an additional 30 minutes.
Microwave beans & rice pouch on high for 3 minutes.
Remove Ropa Vieja form oven, uncover, stir and serve over black beans and rice.
Oven Preparation: READ INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY.
Do not thaw. Keep frozen until ready to cook.
FOR FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY, FOLLOW THESE COOKING INSTRUCTIONS.
FOOD MUST BE COOKED TO AN INTERNAL TEMPERATURE OF 165°F AS INDICATED BY A FOOD THERMOMETER.
