(OMAHA, Neb., May 21, 2024) — Today, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of the Midwest Plains has officially recognized Omaha Steaks with the 2024 BBB Torch Award for Ethics. This is a prestigious acknowledgement highlighting the company’s commitment to integrity within the marketplace. BBB offers these awards to its service area, which includes Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and South Dakota. As a local winner, Omaha Steaks has been entered into the running for the International Torch Awards; results will be announced in the coming months.

“We are tremendously honored to be recognized by the BBB with a Torch Award for Ethics, says Nate Rempe, Omaha Steaks’ President and CEO. “High integrity is a key part of Omaha Steaks’ 100+ year legacy and, as stewards of that legacy, we hold ourselves accountable to maintaining high ethical standards, every day. When it’s part of who you have been as a business for more than a century, treating team members and customers fairly and honestly is in our DNA; it just comes naturally.”

The selection process for the BBB Torch Awards for Ethics is rigorous, involving an independent panel of judges who assess nominees based on the following criteria: Character, culture, customers, and community. Organizations do not need to be BBB Accredited to be eligible, but they must be in good standing.

“The honor bestowed upon Omaha Steaks is well-deserved,” says Jim Hegarty, BBB Midwest Plains President & CEO. “Their dedication to nurturing an ethical work environment, upholding a robust corporate identity, and ensuring employee satisfaction is commendable. The strides they have made predict a bright and promising future, and we eagerly anticipate seeing their continued success."
