- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 medium shallot, minced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons fresh sage, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons turkey drippings, optional for added flavor
- 3 cups turkey or chicken stock
Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat. Add shallot and garlic, cook until fragrant.
Stir continuously and add sage, rosemary, and flour, followed by the turkey drippings and stock. Continue stirring on low heat until mixture thickens, about 8 to 10 minutes.
