For years, chefs have been featuring this classic steak dish on their menus, and now you can have a five-star experience in your own home! Our center-cut filet mignon is coated in mushroom and onion duxelles, made from finely chopped mushrooms, onions, parsley, and black pepper sautéed in butter. This mixture is wrapped in a handmade crust decorated with a hand-carved pastry flower.
This entrée is packed with flavor and guaranteed to wow everyone around your table. Complete your meal with an easy-to-prepare vegetable side dish and creamy potato side dish.
Preparation
OVEN: Thaw in refrigerator 24 hours. Preheat oven to 400°F. Position a rack in the upper third of oven. Remove beef wellington from packaging and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with egg wash, if desired, by combining 1 beaten egg with 2 tsp. of water and brushing on wellington prior to cooking. Place in oven and bake until pastry is golden brown, and a meat thermometer inserted into the center registers 130-135°F for medium rare (about 22 minutes), or 140-145°F for medium (about 25 minutes). Remove from oven, let rest 5 minutes and serve.
