(OMAHA, Neb., Sept. 25, 2025) – In a powerful demonstration of community partnership and commitment to addressing food insecurity, Saving Grace Perishable Food Rescue has joined forces with Omaha Steaks to host a special distribution event providing high-quality protein to neighbors in need.
The event will take place on Thursday, September 25, at six nonprofit sites around the Metro Omaha-Council Bluffs area served by Saving Grace. One pallet of Omaha Steaks products will be available at each of the locations, to be distributed directly to local food-insecure households through choice or drive-up pantries. This one-day initiative is part of an effort by both organizations to combat hunger and reduce food waste across the region.
"We are incredibly proud to partner with Omaha Steaks to bring nutritious, high-quality food directly to organizations who are serving community members in need," said Lenli Corbett Kountze, CEO of Saving Grace Perishable Food Rescue. "Proteins are becoming harder for our nonprofit partners to source, so this distribution arrives at a very needed time. Community partnerships such as the one with Omaha Steaks help us to respond to gaps in nutritional needs of those served by our nonprofit recipient partners.”
Omaha Steaks has long been committed to supporting communities through organizations that enhance the lives of others, which is done through their Steaks for Good program. Fighting food insecurity in the Omaha community and nationwide is at the core of Omaha Steaks’ giving priorities.
“At Omaha Steaks, we’re not only raising national awareness about the realities of food insecurity—we’re actively working every day to be part of the solution,” said Nate Rempe, Omaha Steaks President and CEO. “Our commitment goes beyond advocacy; it’s about making a lasting, measurable impact in the communities we serve.”
Volunteers from Omaha Steaks and staff from Saving Grace will be on-site at each location to facilitate safe, efficient distribution. Volunteers will also have the chance to support their site with other needs and will have a chance to tour the location to learn more about the services offered to community members.
