Total Donation Valued at $275,000
WHO:
For the fifth consecutive year, Omaha Steaks and United Rentals are partnering to support Heartland neighbors facing food insecurity.
This year, 145 United Rentals employees chose to opt in and redirect their Omaha Steaks corporate holiday gift to Food Bank for the Heartland. Omaha Steaks is matching and increasing that contribution to 290 meal packages, totaling $43,500.
In addition, following the holiday season, Omaha Steaks will donate an additional $235,000 in premium protein, sides, and desserts - bringing the total donation value to more than $275,000.
Because thousands of businesses across the country chose to give Omaha Steaks as holiday gifts to their employees, clients, and partners, Omaha Steaks is able to continue its long-standing tradition of giving back in a significant way after the holiday season.
Todd Simon, fifth-generation family owner of Omaha Steaks, and Nate Rempe, President and CEO, will be available for interviews.

WHERE:
Food Bank for the Heartland
4645 S. 84th Street
Omaha, NE
WHY:
Across Nebraska and western Iowa, 1 in 7 individuals, including 1 in 5 children, face food insecurity. Rising food costs and ongoing financial pressures are causing many families to seek assistance for the first time.
While food banks often receive shelf-stable items, access to high-quality protein remains limited. Protein is a critical component of a balanced diet and essential in the fight against hunger. This donation will provide thousands of servings of premium protein to families in need.
QUOTES:
“The challenges many families face with the rising cost of food make supporting Food Bank for the Heartland with high-quality protein not just something we do, it’s something we must do and will continue to do,” said Nate Rempe, President and CEO of Omaha Steaks.
“We are grateful to Omaha Steaks and United Rentals for their continued commitment to helping the 1 in 7 individuals facing hunger across Nebraska and western Iowa,” said Brian Barks, President and CEO of Food Bank for the Heartland. “Protein-rich foods play a key role in the fight against hunger, and this generous donation will support families who are making unthinkable decisions every day.”
“United Rentals employees continue to exemplify our company’s commitment to corporate citizenship and community support,” said Todd Hayes, Region Vice President, United Rentals. “This year, 145 employees redirected their Omaha Steaks holiday gift to Food Bank for the Heartland, exceeding previous years’ participation. These contributions will help provide essential meals to families across Nebraska.”
