Podcast featuring CEOs Nate Rempe and Robert Reiss reveals magical hacks for real-world leadership
OMAHA, Nebraska – May 5, 2026 – The tenth episode of “Brain of Command,” co-hosted by Nate Rempe, President and CEO of Omaha Steaks, and Robert Reiss, CEO of The CEO Forum Group, is now available for streaming. The podcast centers on the “Magic 11” behavioral hacks that can help leaders transform into effective CEOs, no matter where they start on the organizational chart today. Through monthly episodes, Rempe and Reiss will talk with other industry-leading CEOs, breaking down what it takes to command a room, a career, and maybe even a company.
The tenth “Brain of Command” episode features Bob Wheeler, President and CEO of Airstream, exploring hack #10 of the Magic 11 hacks: be shallow and wide at the top.
“I have a lot of passion and love for technology and engineering specifically, but I still have to be effective at thinking critically about what we’re doing at Omaha Steaks to provide good benefits and systems that make it easy to manage a paycheck. I’m less passionate about them, but I have to commit just as much energy as a CEO to those areas as the ones I may want to spend more time in,” says Rempe. “That's the temptation; that’s the challenge of shallow and wide. You have to generate passion, and you have to acknowledge the importance of a broader skillset.
“I think of people as being, especially in leadership roles, being T-shaped. We all come from somewhere. We have an area of expertise we can’t ignore, nor should we, but that’s your comfort zone. To be a leader and advance in an organization and show strategic leadership, you need to get out of that comfort zone and understand the other aspects of the business,” says Wheeler. “To be a leader in a business, you’ve got to have a strong working understanding of some of these key areas as well.”
