The results of the Omaha Steaks Valentine\u2019s Day Survey are in, and you don\u2019t have to make reservations. Valentine’s Day at home?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

That\u2019s right. Nearly 90% of our respondents said they\u2019d enjoy their spouse cooking for them at home, and almost 75% said a meal cooked by their Valentine makes them feel the most <\/em>loved. It\u2019s also cheaper, quieter, and less formal. So let\u2019s roll up those sleeves and plan a special Valentine\u2019s dinner, shall we?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

These are the four elements of Valentine\u2019s Day dinner. We\u2019ll teach you how to make each, and lightly encourage you to try easy Omaha Steaks dishes along the way.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

STEAK<\/strong><\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

Our signature steak is the most requested main dish for a special dinner. Go with your instincts and make filet mignon \u2014 it\u2019s the tenderest steak you can possibly get, it\u2019s mild and easy to love, and it\u2019s simple to make at home even in February. It doesn\u2019t need to be big \u2014 5 or 6 ounces should do it \u2014 you\u2019re having lobster tails, too.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

  1. Thaw your steaks and blot them dry with a clean paper towel.<\/li>\n
  2. Rub steaks with olive oil and season with sea salt and fresh pepper.<\/li>\n
  3. Preheat your skillet on high.<\/li>\n
  4. Add filets, searing all sides on the hot skillet (the more surface area you sear, the better your steak).<\/li>\n
  5. Take steaks off when the internal temp measures about 130F for medium-rare (probably around 10m total).<\/li>\n
  6. Let steaks rest before serving!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    LOBSTER<\/strong><\/h2>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Sure, you could just do steak. You could save money by getting wilted flowers, too. Completing your Valentine\u2019s Day surf & turf with lobster tails is actually easy. Omaha Steaks lobster tails, and most other lobster tails you can get, are frozen when you bring them home. That makes it super easy.<\/p>\n

    1. Start with your lobster tails frozen, no need to thaw.<\/li>\n
    2. Boil water in a big pot or saucepan. Add Old Bay or another seasoning if you\u2019d like.<\/li>\n
    3. Unwrap your frozen lobster tails and plop them in the water.<\/li>\n
    4. Bring the water back to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer and cook tails for 12-15 minutes<\/li>\n
    5. The tails are done with the meat is opaque (white, not clear)<\/li>\n
    6. Serve with plenty of butter.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Here\u2019s where we\u2019ll go ahead and do a little shameless promotion. You don\u2019t need to mess around with side dishes from scratch\u2026 the timing is hard and the results will be mixed if you\u2019re inexperienced.
