Turn Stove on High and Preheat Skillet<\/h3>\n<p>Turn your stove on high before cooking because you want your skillet to be HOT! This will create an incredible crust on your steak. Preheat your skillet over high heat for at least 5 minutes. If you use a cast iron skillet, you will need to preheat the pan for at least 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<h3>6. Add High-Temp Oil<\/h3>\n<p>Add 1-3 tablespoons of high smoke point oil or fat, like grapeseed oil, canola oil, ghee or duck fat, to the preheated skillet. Let the oil or fat get hot.<\/p>\n<h3>7. Place Steaks in Pan<\/h3>\n<p>It\u2019s time to cook! Carefully place each filet mignon in the hot pan. Leave at least one inch of space between each <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omahasteaks.com\/buy\/Steaks?SRC=RZ0636\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\">steak<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>8.
