Omaha, NE - May 6, 2010 | Omaha Steaks Scholarship Award Recipients Announced
With great pride, Omaha Steaks recently announced the recipients of this year's scholarship awards. The scholarship program, now in its tenth year, is designed to provide assistance to employees' children who plan to pursue post-secondary education in either a college or vocational education setting.
The following students, all members of the "Omaha Steaks Family," have been selected to receive scholarships for the 2010/2011 academic year:
Jennifer Garber, daughter of Dan and Shu Garber of West Point, Nebraska. Jennifer, a graduate of West Point-Beemer High School in West Point, Nebraska, will attend the University of Nebraska in Omaha, Nebraska, where her field of study is international studies.
Chantal Metschke, daughter of Michael and Gina Metschke of Snyder, Nebraska. Chantal, a graduate of Scribner-Snyder Community Schools in Scribner, Nebraska, will attend the Nebraska Methodist College of Nursing in Omaha, Nebraska, where her field of study is nursing.
Alexis Rivera, son of Jesus Rivera and Maria Escobar of West Point, Nebraska. Alexis, a graduate of West Point-Beemer High School in West Point, Nebraska, will attend the University of Nebraska in Omaha, Nebraska, where his field of study is architectural engineering.
Staci Ronhovde, daughter of Tom and Sue Ronhovde of Eagle, Nebraska. Staci, a graduate of Elmwood-Murdock High School in Murdock, Nebraska, will attend Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska, where her field of study is elementary education.
Nathen Bopp, son of Francis and Charlene Bopp of Mansfield, Massachusetts. Nathen, a graduate of Mansfield High School in Mansfield, Massachusetts, will attend the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Massachusetts, where his field of study is pre-med.
Joleen Jansen, daughter of Ray and Therese Jansen of Omaha, Nebraska. Joleen, a graduate of Westside High School in Omaha, Nebraska, will attend Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona, where her field of study is industrial design.
The six scholarship award recipients were selected for their academic accomplishments, leadership, community involvement and participation in school activities. "We sincerely congratulate this year's scholarship recipients and their families," said Omaha Steaks President Bruce Simon, "and are proud to have them representing Omaha Steaks."
