Omaha, NE - May 8, 2012 | Omaha Steaks Scholarship Award Recipients Announced
Omaha, Nebraska - With great pride, Omaha Steaks recently announced the recipients of this year's scholarship awards. The scholarship program has been in place more than ten years and is designed to provide assistance to employees' children who plan to pursue post-secondary education in either a college or vocational education setting.
The following students, all members of the "Omaha Steaks Family," have been selected to receive scholarships for the 2012/2013 academic year:
Bailey Minehart, daughter of Karyn and Wayne Minehart of Omaha, Nebraska. Bailey, a graduate of Duchesne Academy in Omaha, Nebraska, attends Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where her field of study is pre-med.
Shannon Ronhovde, daughter of Tom and Sue Ronhovde of Eagle, Nebraska. Shannon, a graduate of Elmwood-Murdock High School in Murdock, Nebraska, will attend University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska, where her field of study is biochemistry.
Elizabeth Meisinger, daughter of Jon and Richelle Meisinger of Omaha, Nebraska. Elizabeth, a graduate of Mercy High School in Omaha, Nebraska, attends University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, where her field of study is biological sciences.
Elizabeth Holmes, daughter of Holly and Todd Holmes of Omaha, Nebraska. Elizabeth, a graduate of Concordia High School in Omaha, Nebraska, will attend Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska, where her field of study is business administration.
Jasmin Mejia, daughter of Ismael Mejia of Lavista, Nebraska. Jasmin, a graduate of Omaha South High School in Omaha, Nebraska, will attend Peru State College in Peru, Nebraska, where her field of study is elementary education.
Claudia Magana, daughter of Beatriz and Felipe Magana of West Point, Nebraska. Claudia, a graduate of West Point-Beemer High School in West Point, Nebraska, will attend University of Nebraska in Omaha, Nebraska, where her field of study is elementary and special education.
The six scholarship award recipients were selected for their academic accomplishments, leadership, community involvement and participation in school activities. "We sincerely congratulate this year's scholarship recipients and their families," said Omaha Steaks President Bruce Simon, "and are proud to have them representing Omaha Steaks."
