With great pride, Omaha Steaks recently announced the recipients of this year's scholarship awards. The scholarship program has been in place for more than ten years and is designed to provide assistance to employees' children who plan to pursue post-secondary education in either a college or vocational education setting.

The following students, all members of the "Omaha Steaks Family," have been selected to receive scholarships for the 2011/2012 academic year:

Lucia Rodriguez, daughter of Hilaria Morales of Omaha, Nebraska. Lucia, a graduate of South Magnet High School in Omaha, Nebraska, will attend Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, where her field of study is nursing.

Anna Carnes, daughter of Tom and Jacqui Carnes of Bellevue, Nebraska. Anna, a graduate of Bellevue West High School in Bellevue, Nebraska, attends Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska, where her field of study is secondary education.

Kassandra Nolasco, daughter of Armando and Delia Nolasco of Ralston, Nebraska. Kassandra, a graduate of Ralston High School in Ralston, Nebraska, will attend Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, where her field of study is pre-med.

Camille Righter, daughter of Debra Righter of Omaha, Nebraska. Camille, a graduate of Benson High School in Omaha, Nebraska, will attend University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska, where her field of study is pre-med.

Rudy Jansen, son of Ray and Therese Jansen of Omaha, Nebraska. Rudy, a graduate of Westside High School in Omaha, Nebraska, attends the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska, where his field of study is film and new media.

Michael Miller, son of Bill and Christal Miller of Omaha, Nebraska. Michael, a graduate of Westside High School in Omaha, Nebraska, attends Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, Nebraska, where his field of study is welding.

The six scholarship award recipients were selected for their academic accomplishments, leadership, community involvement and participation in school activities. "We sincerely congratulate this year's scholarship recipients and their families," said Omaha Steaks President Bruce Simon, "and are proud to have them representing Omaha Steaks."
